Why we started Avagama
Avagama Consulting works with organisations that are putting AI agents into real work. An agent acts on your behalf, so it needs the same care in design, security and selling that you would give any system that does that.
What changed with agents
So why another AI consulting firm? Most advice on AI so far has been about models: which one to pick, how to prompt it, whether to fine-tune it. With agents the model has become one part among many, and the harder questions are elsewhere. What is the agent allowed to do? How does it show where an answer came from? Will people actually use it, and how do you charge for it?
These questions cut across design, security and sales, and in most organisations they get split between teams that rarely talk to each other. We set up the firm around the questions instead, with four practices that work on the same product at the same time. We also run a labs where we build our own agents, so our advice gets tried on us before it reaches you.
What we hold to
We decide an agent's permissions before its features, and loosen them only when there is evidence it is safe to.
Every claim an agent makes should point to the text behind it. We hold our own advice to the same rule.
We leave you working software, the tests that guard it and the know-how to extend it. A slide deck about a system nobody has run is of little use to anyone.
Nothing we recommend should be untried, which is why the labs exist.
Some work is better done by a form, a simple rule or a person. When that's the case, we tell you.
How we work together
A review of permissions and architecture, a go-to-market plan, or a product strategy for a new line of agent products. It takes weeks, not quarters.
Built in your codebase, with its tests, permission model and run books. For teams who want the first version done right.
We work inside your team for a few months, so the know-how stays with you after we leave.
Most work starts with one of four fixed pieces of work.
Leadership
Abhay Nawathey founded Avagama and leads both the consulting work and the labs. He works directly on engagements across all four practices, and designed Openings, the first agent to come out of the labs.
We add people as the work needs them. Have you led work in agent design, security, go-to-market or product-led growth? If you'd like to do it at a firm that ships its own agents, write to us.
